Drupal FAPI tales - need a token?

Long time no post. No time to post. Cest la vide, eh? Lets get to the point shall we?...

Abstract:
I'm implementing a site now with nice amount of self-crafted forms. Drupal of course. Drupal 6 of course.
Now, I had this problem with one of the forms when testing how it works (with the others I didn't reach that state yet):

Teaching VI to recognize Drupal's *.module as php files

This is a blog post for moi, actually. I get into the habit of "I had this piece of info in my blog. Lets recall..." and I'm following this this habbit with the post you're reading. Of course, I do hope its useful for others.

A few tips on using jQuery with Drupal on IE6 (out of sweat and tears)

Introduction:
This post deals with several problems related to the combination of jQuery and IE6 and the lessons learned while working on a recent project. I just had to share those with you: so many hours have been put into the effort so I just can't let it all fade (even if also to have a reference to get back to Smile)

Using PDT + xDebug (for debugging Drupal projects)

This blog post is meant to be a short guide and tips repository for setting up a PHP development environment using Eclipse PDT and xDebug. I use such an environment for my Drupal based development and it is an invaluable tool to me. This post doesn't explain everything because there's lots to it. From my experience (as a former Zend employee (Zend produces its own commercial PHP IDE)) and from my acquaintance with the PHP development community, I have a good reasons to believe this article could serve a few PHP developers out there.

Direct DB access with custom (CCK) node types in Drupal

Hi,

I had this experience a few days ago which I could definitely spare: my code that runs custom query against a Drupal site's DB failed completely. One day, out of the blue, my code topped working and I got those SQL problems errors. It appeared as if the DB has changed under my feet! C$%p! - DB corruption???
Not really... Had I known a bit more... Embarassed .

My Zend Studio' dark-background syntax highlight scheme

screen-shot

Well, its just a simple post
I waned to share with whoever might find it useful my Zend Studio' (PHP IDE) color scheme.

I tend to prefer light on dark schemes, and usually with low contrast. This scheme is no exception. Below is a small screen-shot showing how it looks.

Exporting MySQL data into CSV using command line client

I've recently needed to export some MySQL table data into a file.
Sure, there are gazillion ways to do this. I wanted to do this with as simple as possible tools - command line, that will be available always, and in a way which is not too awkward yet still powerful enough while done in a resource-conserving way.

Updating KDE default layout switching key-binding

Question: How do one change his default keyboard layout switching key-bindings (in KDE, of course!) from the default Ctrl+Alt+K to Alt+Shift-Left ?

great success

Hi all,

I'm quite excited - the new site is forming up. I've spent hours debugging and playing with the various photo albums capabilities this system (Drupal) offers and test albums have been already created. As a plus, I use the slick "thickbox" tool which opens the picture on top of the window while shading the background.

Cant wait till I'll learn even more and start finalizing it toward actually moving the whole family site to this system.

See ya soon!
Boaz.

Further developements on the site

Site development is continuing. I've added "taxonomy" terms. Taxonomy is like "tags" (Flickr terminology) or "labels" (Google terminology). The taxonomy is expandable by users who can post on this site. It is a very good tool for organizing content on the site (in fact, its one of Drupal's strongest features). With this sort of classification its very easy to search later for "administrative" posts or "Action" or "Melancholic" mood pictures. Yep, as powerful as that.
Classification is also important if you wish to have your content easily found via search engines

Welcome to the revised site of the Rymland family!

Welcome to the new version of the site. I'm still building it so its hardly prepared for prime time. Feel free to send me an email if you have any proposal or remark.

See you soon!
Boaz.
